Ask Kiwi is a dedicated New Zealand community knowledge hub and grocery price transparency radar designed specifically for Kiwis, newcomers, renters, families, and tradespeople across Aotearoa.
What We Do
Grounded Kiwi AI
Answers backed by official NZ legislation, Tenancy Services rulings, and IRD tax codes.
Price Transparency Radar
Multimodal in-memory receipt scanning revealing cross-store savings across Pak'nSave, Woolworths, and New World.
Editorial & Verification Standards
To combat misinformation, our knowledge guides follow strict editorial and grounding principles:
- Primary Government Sources: Every legal, tax, tenancy, and transit article directly references official New Zealand authorities (including legislation.govt.nz, Tenancy Services, Inland Revenue (IRD), Waka Kotahi NZTA, and Consumer NZ).
- Regular Reviews: Regulations in Aotearoa evolve. Our content is reviewed periodically to align with legislative amendments (such as RUC updates, Healthy Homes timeline changes, and minimum wage adjustments).
- Data Integrity & Crowdsourcing: Retail grocery comparisons are calculated directly from verified consumer receipts using standard unit measurements ($/kg, $/100g, $/L) to eliminate misleading retail shrinkflation.
